ABOUT THE FIRM
WHO WE ARE
A design and engineering firm specializing in residential remodels, additions, and new homes. We are licensed designers and engineers. We are pragmatists and visionaries. We have found our calling. We are in it for the satisfaction, not the fame.
|
WHAT WE DO
We are translators and interpreters. We internalize our client’s vision, and we express that vision as a design. We reveal the hidden potential of each project. We do our homework. We assemble the ingredients.
|
WHO WE WORK FOR
Our clients are looking for a home that enhances their quality of life. Our clients want to feel a connection with their surroundings. Our clients want to be part of the process. Our clients value substance.
|
WHY USE US
We ask questions. We provide clarity. We empower our clients to make informed decisions. We take ownership of the outcome.

ABOUT THE OWNER
Eric is a longtime Truckee local who has lived in the region since the age of two. He grew up immersed in the construction industry, working at an early age with his father, who is a licensed contractor and licensed surveyor. Strong ties to the community kept him close during his college years; he attended the University of Nevada, Reno for his engineering degree and worked his way through college by framing houses, surveying, and giving cross-country ski lessons. Eric began working as an engineer for Shelton & Associates in 2000, and bought the firm in 2007. From 2007 to 2014 the firm was operated as Shelton & Bacon. The firm was incorporated in 2014 as Bacon Collaborative Design Engineering, Inc.

THE BACON COLLABORATIVE DIFFERENCE
Bacon collaborative Design Engineering Inc. offers a complete residential design service under one roof. We have a licensed residential designer and licensed civil engineer in house. We do everything necessary to obtain a building permit with the exception of boundary surveys and geotechnical investigations (should you need either one, contact us for more information). Our ability to complete the entire project in-house adds value by eliminating costly communication errors and delays between separate consultants.
